 Friends of Cumston Hall developed a comprehensive plan to renovate, restore and expand Cumston Hall. The Cumston Hall Centennial Project, includes three phases. Phase I addresses building safety and regulatory compliance issues and includes a 5,000-square-foot addition containing an elevator, bathrooms, and additional library space. Phase II completes the expansion of the Cumston Public Library by finishing the library addition. Phase III will preserve and restore Cumston Hall's architectural and aesthetic features. Friends of Cumston Hall and the Town of Monmouth have already embarked on the first two stages of the project. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades are nearing completion and construction of the new library addition and elevator tower should be finished by June 2001. Friends of Cumston Hall are actively raising funds through this campaign to support these improvements and to ensure that Phase III preservation efforts can continue into the future. |
